At 12, I discovered the joy of reading. By 13, I already wanted to write.

I was fascinated by Paula Pimenta, by sweet romances, and by the school vibe of teenage stories. At the time, my passion for history, geography, portuguese, and arts dominated my choices. Math? Well, that was always the subject I hated the most. Coincidence or not, when I created Julieta, the protagonist of my book Reino Silencioso, math would be her favorite subject.

It was at 13, during a visit to Petrópolis, a city full of history, that I was inspired to start writing.

Memories of 2012

Among the gardens, palaces, and historical places of the imperial city, I began to imagine an empire, but not just any empire. I dreamed of a real princess, one who had doubts, faith, tears, and courage—much more than the fairytale princesses I used to read about. And so, the outline of Reino Silencioso was born.

In the original idea, the plot of Reino Silencioso was light, focused on a romance with a touch of youth. At the time, I was reading Julieta Imortal (has anyone read that?) , and not by chance, the character of Juan was initially meant to be Romeo.

But over the years, the story evolved along with my own growth. I was no longer just writing about a romance but about my own search for meaning and faith, something I never imagined I would explore until that moment.

Julieta’s story became more than just about love; it also became about grief and resilience, inspired by the tragedy involving Princess Diana. Her death and the grief of her children led me to imagine the pain of a daughter without a mother, and Julieta’s emotional journey was shaped by that. I knew I had to write about loss, the healing process, and how we can find hope even in the most difficult situations.

Over the next 12 years, the book went through pauses and restarts. Every time I remembered the story and my characters, I would try to get back to writing, but something always prevented me from finishing. When I turned 25, I finally realized that the dream of finishing Reino Silencioso wasn’t just about the book but about the lessons I had learned over the years.

Now, 13 years later, Reino Silencioso ( Silent Kingdown) will have a new edition and will be published for the first time in physical format. And the best part? I will be presenting the book at FEFICC, the largest Christian book fair in Brazil, which will take place from May 16 to 18 at the Mackenzie Higienópolis campus.

It’s a very special achievement to see this project finally coming to life!

If you also have a dream or a story you’ve kept for years, don’t give up! Time may be long, but it’s what prepares us to complete the journey the right way. And who knows, in the next chapters, you might also see your own dreams taking shape.

I hope to see you at FEFICC. Let’s celebrate this new phase of Reino Silencioso together!
